VX Marksmanship is a veteran owned and operated company.
Dan Sanderford, VX’s owner and lead instructor, is a former Force Recon Marine and Urban Sniper Instructor with multiple deployments to the middle east. Additionally, he taught at S.O.T.G. (Special Operations Training Group) in the Marine Corps, and also, with the O’Gara Group as a V.B.S.S., Sniper, R&S and CQB Instructor.
Prior to becoming an operator in the military Dan was the recipient of several NRA/Olympic gold medals from pistol and rifle competitions.
All of our other instructors, both male and female, have trained at VX under Dan’s tutelage for years, and this team continues to train in the VX Curriculum at advanced levels. Several of our instructors are TCCC-AC Certified, and we include combat casualty/trauma training in many of our courses.
Our instructors’ motto is “Respect Defeats Ego.” We treat all our students (civilian, law enforcement and military) with respect while pushing them beyond their own perceived limits.
It is not uncommon to hear from our students that their training at VX instilled in them, life skills in addition to developing or enhancing their firearm and tactical skills.

Our 10-level curriculum is fundamental based. Our progressive approach to stacking critical skills enhances shooter technical and mental retention rates. Our crawl, walk, run philosophy and personalized approach allows each individual shooter to progress at their own rate. Whether you are a male or female, a novice or an experienced shooter, you will develop and retain the following skills in both mindset and technique.
